Nanotechnology: so small and giant at the same time

If it was always difficult to be informed, now it is worse. Today the information is part of the "fetishism" of the market, it no longer operates on intelligence, but on psychology, they do not manipulate consciousness but their unconscious desires and fears. That is why we consider it necessary to activate the critical capacity, not simply as a complaint mechanism, but to emphasize external manipulation.

We intend to give a contextual approach - and underline the doubts it generates - to the issue of nanotechnology, which covers all our daily activity, but slips like water between the hands of connoisseurs. To reflect on these issues is to be aware of the distance that separates us, to think about them is to think about our inadequacies.

Undoubtedly, nanotechnology is a convergent discipline and its rapid development makes it difficult to understand, in addition to the low presence in the media, except in those specialized. It covers many areas of science, research and technology and develops in tiny dimensions, exactly one billion times smaller than a meter.

Sixty years ago, in 1959, Nobel laureate and American theoretical physicist Richard Feynman, raised in a visionary university conference the possibility of manipulating matter at the atomic scale and, among other things, creating molecular machines. For many this was the starting point of one of the technologies called to mark the evolution of the 21st century, nanotechnology.

High Paying Entry Level Jobs Already started the century, those predictions are a reality and this technology that is developed on a nanometric scale already floods all known industrial sectors with products and applications.

Undoubtedly, our civilization witnesses the fastest and most comprehensive technological change in history. Nanotechnology has the necessary characteristics to redefine, reshape and transform economies and societies worldwide.

Under the concept of nanotechnology underlying different social aspects such as education, professional careers and employment, politics, health, energy and the environment. The advances of new technologies have gone beyond our ability to accurately predict their impact on society, business and the economy.

The rapid technological evolution forms the basis of the exponential growth of innovation, whose consequences are yet to be seen. We find materials that can change properties spontaneously, lighter, stronger materials, methods that provide non-invasive cures for cancer and even invisibility. All this is leading us to the new industrial revolution of the century, since this field of knowledge will transform our future, into a multiplicity of sectors.

For the most optimistic, we are in the midst of a paradigm shift in which sciences destined to the knowledge of nature are replaced by integrated science-technologies, destined to transform nature to restore lost patterns, respond to socio-economic needs and make possible Life on earth.
